Here are my top priorities I would focus on as the Councilmember from Ward 3:
INFRASTRUCTURE, STREETS & TRAFFIC
Prioritizing the repair and long-term maintenance of roads, bridges, and neighborhood infrastructure. Working with local and state partners to improve traffic flow and safety on key corridors like Highway 169 and West River Road, while ensuring our roads, parks, and trails are safe and accessible for all, as our community continues to grow.
PARKS & RECREATION
Maintaining and expanding parks, trails, and outdoor access, improving ADA accessibility at places like Andrews Park, and supporting long-term community investments like Mississippi Crossings.
COMMUNITY & TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT
Balancing growth with the preservation of Champlin’s character and environment by encouraging development fits our neighborhoods and addresses traffic and infrastructure impacts, and does not outpace our city’s capacity to support it. Carefully evaluating proposals such as data centers and technologies like license plate cameras to protect privacy, utilities, and community character.
STRONG LOCAL ECONOMY & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Encouraging economic growth that strengthens Champlin’s local business community and ensuring residents are informed, heard, and involved in city decisions, while encouraging participation through boards, commissions, and community initiatives.
RESPONSIBLE BUDGETING & PUBLIC SAFETY
Protecting residents through transparent, accountable, and responsible spending that prioritizes essential services and infrastructure. Supporting well-staffed, well-equipped police and fire departments, along with city staff, to ensure Champlin remains a safe and well-served community that is affordable for families.
